![]() Richard, former Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration, addressed the graduates. ![]() whatever you do in this world, it will matter."Īnne C. it could be the employment of one person or a department of dozens. In his opening remarks, Dean Reuben Brigety II told graduates that, "today belongs to you, yet others helped you along the way." He encouraged them to thank the parents, friends and mentors who made their success possible.Įlliott School student speaker Russell Hartley urged the crowd to remember that, "our decisions, policies, analysis, and our recommendations will matter - because they will be inexorably linked to someone's life. Congratulations, Elliott School graduates! There are already rumors about "In the Groove 2", and I'll be picking that up for sure.More than 800 undergraduate and graduate students and thousands of family members and friends assembled in GW's Smith Center on to celebrate one of the most significant milestones of their lives. Plus it's got a ton of modifiers, an insane marathon mode, and battle mode. I passed two different songs in particular that had over 520 steps! And one of those had a harder skill level than that with 800 some odd steps. It's almost ALL electronic music! Track after track with a heavy house beat and various synths thrown in, with a few decent hip hop tracks too! The songs are much longer (another complaint about DDR) with more steps, and harder. But then I played some more.and more.and more.and finally stopped when I could hardly move and was feeling a bit natious. The first song in the list was a rock-esque song."Here we go again", I thought. It came home with me and I started it up. It is made by RedOctane after all, a company which produces the amazingly high quality Ignition Pad. I saw it at Best Buy and said, "eh why not". There are some high points, mostly on Japanese mixes ("bag" comes to mind), so it's not all bad.Įnter "In The Groove". DDR is full of cheesy stuff, ESPECIALLY DDR Max 2. But for me, a progressive house/trance fan, the music has not been not so good. For most people, the music is fine, they enjoy it and so on. My complaint has always been it's mostly blah music. I have been fortunate enough to discover something that is beyond "pretty good", better than "decent", and puts "alright" to shame! In reality, what I have found is the newest ripoff of Dance Dance Revolution ("DDR"), but I mean "ripoff" in the most amazing possible sense.ĭDR has been my only source of exercise for the last three years (unfortunately typing and moving a computer mouse don't up the heartrate), and I've enjoyed it greatly. I mean, I understand having a catch phrase, but his are just painful. Since I hate football with a glowing ember-like passion, that makes it even worse. That adds to his normal annoyance since he has that football equivalent: "He could go ". Thus Chris Berman is really annoying me right now. ![]() If it looked like a home run, he'd go to the next city on the list and end that phrasing with it. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a list of cities around Detroit in front of him, that he would refer to when a home run was hit. But almost every time someone hit a ball, you'd hear: The All Star Game this year is in Detroit. Last night I shuddered continuously as he not only did that, but added a phrase onto the end. Someone clearly hits a 500+ foot home run, and he attempts to put drama into it with that phrase. "Back back back back.GONE!" is not the problem, but it's the way he says it, with such overemphasis. His home run commentary has always been annoying. I've never been a big fan of Chris Berman.
